VASANTHA UTSAVAM
The word “Vasantham” means Spring and “Utsavam” means festival.
Lord Srinivasa Perumal’s Spring Festival in the form of Vasantha Utsavam is celebrated in our Temple in conjunction with Vaikaasi Pournami for ten days.
During these ten days, local artistes and local Indian arts institutions perform at our Temple to display their classical and carnartic talents, in the field music, vocal or dance.
This year, the festival commences on 7th June 2009 and ends on 17th June 2009. Midway during the festival, on 12th June 2009 (Friday), the Temple will observe its Mahakumbabishegam anniversary on Thiruvona Natchathram day.
The Vasantha Utsavam concludes on 17th June 2009 when Perumal is brought round the Temple on the Pallaku amidst the beats and music from the Nathaswara and Thavil Vidwans of various temples in Singapore. More details of the Vasantha Utsavam and the performing budding artistes and groups will be made known in the middle of May 2009.
